Social commitment

The Migros Culture Percentage contributes to a diverse and dynamic society. It observes and analyses socially relevant trends and topics. It creates platforms and venues for the development of new approaches. And it forms networks in which groups can contribute their skills for the benefit of others.

Discovering opportunities for social change and making them possible – the Migros Culture Percentage provides a place to do this with projects, platforms and networks in which various groups and cultures can become involved. The think tank for the economy and society, the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute (GDI), also merits recognition.

Helping others help themselves

While the social commitment of the Migros Culture Percentage does not replace government services, it can supplement them. The Migros Culture Percentage projects support personal initiatives, volunteer work and people who would like to contribute their skills to benefit others in areas of conflicting social goals.

The various projects primarily support the following sectors

  • volunteer work, the counselling centre for volunteer activities, vitamin B, or the Innovage project,
  • integration of migrants, via the conTAKT project, for example,
  • health promotion, for example with clubMinu, a programme for overweight children.

Migros' social responsibility

Social responsibility plays a very important role for Migros. In this regard, the Migros Culture Percentage assumes an important function for the major Swiss company that employs over 80,000 people from 150 nations.
