The commitment of the Migros Culture Percentage in the area of leisure time is diverse and has a long tradition. The goal of the institutions, parks and activities is to make it possible for the general public to actively and meaningfully structure their leisure time.

The Migros Culture Percentage maintains four different, publicly accessible Green Meadow Parks. The general public can visit the popular day-trip recreation areas free of charge. They are located in Rüschlikon on Lake Zurich, on Mount Gurten near Berne, in Münchenstein-Basel and in Signal de Bougy on Lake Geneva.

Monte Generoso Railway

The leisure time programme also includes the lookout and excursion mountain Monte Generoso in Ticino. The Migros Culture Percentage commitment to the Monte Generoso Railway makes this attractive recreation area available to the public.

Active and meaningful structuring of leisure time

The Migros Club Schools, with its diverse offerings, promotes active leisure time structuring in the areas of music, cooking, dance, theatre, fitness, sport, relaxation and general education, and at the same time makes a contribution to public health. For many participants, language training at the Migros Club Schools and Eurocentres is also a leisure activity.

The Migros Culture Percentage commitment to culture promotes active leisure activities such as amateur theatre, rock music for young people, choral singing and literature events.

Regional activities

Additional and diverse financial support for leisure time activities is provided particularly in the ten regional Migros Cooperatives, for example:

• financial support of society activities,
• clubs for senior citizens,
• promoting sports in the regions.

Discounted excursions are also offered. In some cases, Migros cooperative members receive admittance at reduced prices using the travel vouchers provided during Migros campaigns.

Although Migros' 26 recreation centres (fitness, golf and swimming parks) were created for the same reasons, they are not supported by the Migros Culture Percentage.
